The Shadowsword is a super-heavy main battle tank used by the Imperial Guard to hunt enemy Titans. It was designed using the same technology and chassis as the Baneblade tank except that it is armed with a Volcano Cannon. Much of the tank is taken up with the internal capacitors required to fire this potent weapon and it is also equipped with advanced logic engines and targeting systems to make each shot count. Each shot is sufficiently powerful to shear off a Titan's arm or leg, but requires a good deal of time to recharge.
The following model is a ForgeWorld resin model.
Size comparison shot, old 1990's era (Left) current GW metal (middle) and FW resin (Right).

Baneblade - Epic SHT
The Baneblade Super Heavy Tank is the primary super-heavy tank of the Imperial Guard, and one of the largest and oldest armored fighting vehicles in Imperial service. The tank is a venerated STC design, with ten people needed to fully crew one.
It is also one of the oldest STC designs in existence.
Massively armed, the standard Baneblade complement includes a turret-mounted Mega Battle Cannon with a coaxial Autocannon, three twin-linked Heavy Bolters (one sponson-mounted on either side, and one turret mounted on the front hull slope), two turret mounted Lascannons on either side, directly above the side sponsons, and lastly, a fixed-forward hull-mounted Demolisher Cannon. This totals eleven weapon barrels of various sizes and roles, giving full coverage in all arcs.

Capitol Imperialis
A Capitol Imperialis is a tracked Super-Heavy Vehicle often used as a mobile command base for Imperial Guard regiments. Though heavily armoured and protected by Void Shields, its sheer size and slow speeds limits the vehicle to defensive operations.

Dakka Dakka
Still testing orky colour schemes - this not bad i think.
I still am not sure about a 3k army yet, but it will be fun to build up and paint.

Colonel-Commissar Otter
My commissar has a big tank and a big flag (thanks to a certain mammalian for the flag design). All Imperial guard armies need a commissar to ensure loyalty, dedication and accurate fire. The "Bonestorm Brigade" is pictured above.
Commissar is the term used to designate a political officer in the Regiments of the Imperial Guard. Commissars are tasked with the duty to maintain the morale of the troops during their massive campaigns, often in the face of staggering casualties. The Commissar is empowered to use any means necessary to ensure the loyalty and moral purity of his or her charges, and is regarded with a mixture of fear and admiration by regular Guardsmen.
I think a commissar has more authority with a big tank than without one!

Super heavy tank company
The Stormlord - The Stormlord is a super-heavy tank and variant of the Baneblade super-heavy main battle tank used by the forces of the Imperium, particularly the Imperial Guard. It is equipped with a Vulcan Mega-Bolter and a twin-linked Heavy Bolter. It can also have 2 or 4 Heavy Flamers and Lascannons added to its complement of arms. The Stormlord excels in its role as an infantry support vehicle, as it is able to hold up to forty men and it's armament means that is is easily capable of ripping through infantry and light vehicles. Much like the Baneblade, the Adeptus Mechanicus record the Stormlord's service number and track its accomplishments in the Emperor's service.
The Super Heavy Tank variants are complete - a great addition to the army. I think it is worth considering basing the tank and apc's. At the Cambridge Skirmish event a couple of months ago, 1 or the competitors had based his IG vehicles - looked very good!

IG Super heavy tanks
A recently aquired hand sculpted banbalde variant.
From 40k wiki - the Banehammer weapondryTremor cannon, two sponson-mounted twin-linked heavy bolters, two turret mounted Lascannon, and a hull mounted twin-linked heavy bolter.Role:Details: The Banehammer is a super heavy tank thats specialises in slowing an enemy from advancing swiftly enough to reach Imperial lines before sufficent damage can be given by Imperial Troops. The Banehammer also has a modest Transport Capacity and thus a more flexible battlefield role

Epic Fortress
The inspiration for this project comes from some excellent work by a number of gamers and warhammer fluff. An epic scale fortress wall set would be excellent to use on the battlefield.
Reading the novel Storm of Iron, a typical Imperium fortress has a gatehouse large enough to allow titan to walk through. Thus we have some scale and an idea.
The following is a start of the gatehouse. The outer doors are large enough to allow a Reavertitan to pass through.

A Thousand Heroes
I need to repaint/touch up companies 7, 8 and 9 or find alternative men. Think I have found a great UK source though :)
Looking at the fluff, the Chapter (as yet un named) requires additional armoured vehicles - especially Land raiders!
Looking at the quality of the painting last saturday at Skirmish (Cambs) my skills are lacking.

Work in progress
First things first - I spent last saturday participating at Skirmish in Cambridge (http://www.taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=20442) great fun. But, I will admit that my army was not very good, then again it was chosen without actually playing Epic Amageddon.
I did manage to fit in 3 games before then event and 3 games on saturday - now I can probably pick a decent SM 2000 point army.
All in all it was a good day out and the guys showed a lot of sportsmanship.
without further ado - some WIP
Building - warhammer 40k bits and plastic card. I do need to address the roof.
Waaarrgghhh - here come the Orks - dakka dakka
